Conference April 2008

This weekend we went to the farm to see Oma and Opa. While we were there we were able to watch General Conference. We were very fortunate to watch all 4 sessions, and actually listen to the talks! Oma and Opa took the two oldest girls on Saturday and went to the park, library and then lunch at the fountain. They had a blast! These are their favorite things in Reinbeck and Oma and Opa are two of their favorite people. While Eliza napped JG and I were able to participate in the Solemn Assembly, I don't recall ever participating in one of these before. I was very excited and felt very humbled to be able to raise my arm to the square and sustain the Prophet, First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. I felt a greater responsibility to listen to their words and adhere to the doctrine and principles that they taught. I learned a great deal about Testimonies, Prayer, Eternal Families, and strengthening my relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I realized more this weekend the importance of my relationship with my Heavenly Father in raising and rearing his children on this earth. What a blessing to have this restored gospel on the earth. I feel so blessed to have listened to these words of inspiration. When we were driving home from Iowa tonight I was thinking about all the things I love. I was making a mental list, and decided to put it on paper, well kind of:) I hope to add to it often. Thanks to Oma and Opa for sharing their precious time and yummy food with us this weekend, as well as their TV.
